And I will have information in the next few weeks about broadcast times and about purchasing DVDs. There is SO much great material that could not fit into the 1 hour broadcast show that I am now compiling some of the extra footage to include in the DVDs. During several of my interviews I asked people to describe Tropical Storm Irene, the flooding, and the week after in 3 words. Here's the result in about :40 seconds. I'm working late editing tonight, and some of the material is intense. So I took a few moments to remind myself what inspired me to make this film. I was inspired by the positive. Yes, there's a lot of negative, still today. But this clip is all about what makes us as humans strong, and that's what I want to show in this film. One of our Irene heroes, featured in Flood Bound, is 83 year old Mel Colton. He was featured today on the Vermonts local news station's "Super Seniors" series. Our neighbor Traci Templeton joined author Aerin Dunford exploring the experience of the Pittsfield community immediately after Irene.
"Traci shared that the community existed in “a magical time and space” in the weeks following the hurricane. When life returned to “normal” for the majority of the town, many people said they missed that special something–that sense of connection–they had felt after Irene. " You can read the thoughtful article at http://berkana.org/2012/02/come-on-irene/ Thank you to everyone who has supported the film. We appreciate your support, read more at "What it costs." You've heard of a C.S.A , this is a C.S.F. (Community Supported Fim).
New Donors: Traci Templeton Joyce Stevens Gale Weymouth Donations continue to trickle in. Between on and off line donations we will be able to purchase storage for the video. Now we will work on raising funds to complete the film. Thank you for your help and support.
